Fall Shoe Trends September 20, 2014 With spring fashion week well underway in Milan right now, it seems hard to think about anything fall related, but with the cooler weather and changing leaves, fashion lovers have to accept that fall -then winter- will soon be upon us. In an ditch effort to cheer readers up, I knew a shoe post was in order! Who could be upset about the changing of the seasons with all these gorgeous fall shoe trends? To start off the lineup we have the chunky heel. This shoe was once an outcast, but now it’s having its 15 minutes of fame- hopefully longer if I have anything to say about it! The thing I love about the chunky heel is that it helps relieve some of the pressure off your heel and distributes your weight more evenly throughout your foot, but for someone who doesn’t care about function, they are still as chic as ever! Ah the lace up bootie…a trend I have always had a hard time pulling off. I love boots in the fall, but the laces up the front never seem to go with the look I pair it with. Is it a boot? Is it a gym shoe? No one will ever know, but one thing is for sure, they look pretty good paired with tights and a skirt! News flash ladies! Rounded toed pumps are OUT, and pointed toed heels are IN! The rounded toe pump was all the rage in in the 80’s and 90’s, but from now on, pointed toes are the heel to be seen in. Not only that, it will update your look, and make you feel like you can conquer anything! Who needs pants when you can wear thigh high boots? Well, maybe you still need pants, or a dress, so you don’t offend people in public, but these boots do make the outfit! The first time I fell in love with the idea of wearing thigh high boots was when Anne Hathaway rocked them in The Devil Wears Prada. Ever since then it has been a dream to find a pair that might just fit! Since they are back for the season, I see no better time but now to try my luck! If anyone else has a little bit of shoe luck before me, please share your finds! I would love to hear about them! RELATED POSTSHow To: Buying Holiday GiftsStay Warm, ChicagoWhat’s All the Buzz About?
